He will, He will rock you!
Around this time two years ago, my wife and I’s world was rocked when we knew we were supposed to move to Dallas. The thing is, we were not looking to move. We loved our church, our friends, our house, our city, our university (OU), and would have even bought our plots there.
Quite honestly, ever since we moved here (Dallas), our world has just been rocked over and over. We moved to work at a church. No doubt in my mind it was what I was supposed to do. Then six months ago, we felt God pulling us away from the church we moved here for. Confusing? Absolutely. Nevertheless, we would rather error on moving towards where we feel God leading rather than taking a chance of sitting when we shouldn’t be.
As soon as I resigned from my position at the church, God opened another door. We knew we were supposed to walk through it. Then 2 months ago, God starts dropping whispers in my heart about pursuing music again. Like all the other transitions, those whispers became shouts as wise counsel and mentorship began to echo the same whispers. So, I stepped out. If you read this blog faithfully, you know about the last two months.
In hindset, I know without a shadow of a doubt that Meg and I made the right decisions. What made it hard to walk through is that I do not know the purpose a move or season serves like God does. I have my ideas, but His are greater than mine. I picked up my life and moved to Dallas for a church. How would you interpret that? Yeah, me too. Like you would be there for awhile.
But God saw it differently. Now I am beginning to see that the relationships formed during that short time are lifelong bonds that are vital to all of our futures. God placed us there for a time to plant seeds that will ripen in our future and in others’ futures.
I could go on forever, but the moral of the story is this: If you are not where God wants you to be, and you know it, my advice is to do whatever needs to happen to get there.
However, if God put you where you are at, learn to love it. But remember, it may not serve the purpose you think it does. Whether it seems to be a good situation or a bad situation, God knows what He is doing. Just know that you are planting seeds for your future and many other people’s futures. You may not even know what those seeds are now, but you will in hindset.
